Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to the information you type into ChargebackCheck. The service is deliberately built to hold as little about you as possible: there are no accounts, no database of past cases, and we never ask for a card number.
Who is responsible
This site is run by an individual, not a company, and is free to use. You can reach us at support@chargebackcheck.net for any question about your data or to exercise the rights listed below.
What we process
- Your case details. The description of what happened, the merchant name, the amount and currency, the relevant dates, whether you contacted the merchant, and the evidence checklist you tick.
- Your card network. Whether the card is Visa or Mastercard. We do not ask for, and you should never enter, a card number.
- Your IP address. Held briefly in server memory to limit how many requests one address can make, so the service is not abused. It is not stored with your case and disappears when the server instance recycles.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, passwords, or profiles.
- No database of your cases. The API is stateless.
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics profiling.
- No selling or sharing of your information with anyone for marketing.
- No file uploads. The evidence step is a checklist, not a document store.
Why we process it
To provide the service you asked for. Producing your eligibility check and your report is the performance of our contract with you. Rate limiting rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and its costs under control.
Who else sees it
Start with what never leaves: we do not ask for your card number, so we never have one to send. There is no account, and your case is not saved to any database of ours.
To classify your dispute and draft your letter, the description you type is sent to our AI provider. The deadlines and eligibility checks are not AI at all: those are calculated in our own code from the dates you give us. The full list of companies involved in running the service:
- DeepSeek (China). Generates the dispute classification, the case assessment, and the draft letter.
- Vercel (EU / US). Hosts the website and the API, and keeps short-lived server logs.
- Resend (EU / US). Delivers enquiries sent from our business contact form. Used only for that form; nothing you type about your dispute passes through it.
Our AI provider processes your description outside the European Economic Area. Write to support@chargebackcheck.net if you have any question about that, or about anything else on this page.
How long it is kept
Your case is processed in the moment and is not written to any database by us. Hosting logs are short-lived and held by our hosting provider. Our AI provider may retain prompts for a limited period under its own policy.
Storage on your own device
We save the language you chose in your browser's local storage, so the site opens in it next time. That is all we store on your device, it never leaves it, and clearing your browser data removes it. We set no tracking cookies.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal data, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Because we do not keep a record of your case after it is processed, there is normally nothing for us to retrieve or delete, but write to support@chargebackcheck.net and we will help.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process their data.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
